Weekly Photo Highlight

Porsche 911

Only got a few submissions this week, and one of them was blurry, so I'm stretching back into the archives a bit to select a photo I've looked at several times. This one was submitted by James earning him 5 big entries into our Porsche Giveaway.

A couple of things I like about this picture. First off, it's a 911 Turbo (don't even know why I bother to mention that any more). Second, I love the unique paint color. The Turbo, in my opinion, really wears this color well. Last, I like the setting. This is the kind of "garage" you need for cars like this. Done up nice, clean, lots of room, etc. Be a fun place to have as a car enthusiast.

Who's car is this? Papa Smurf? I'm not a big fan of the color.

I went on a Porsche walk this week and got some great images from the Old Town dealership. I'll send em in this week.

Jerry Seinfeld custom ordered a turbo in this color a few years ago, it was one of a kind, and I think he sold it. The rear bumper on this one creeps me out every time I look at it. Does anyone have any more info on this?

What else do you like in the garage lar? Is is the vacuum system on the wall behind the car. At least we know now they vacuum the car. :-)

I'm just guessing here…don't know why I thought those circles cut in the bumper were lights, but after looking again I think that's someone's idea of venting the motor – the twin turbos generate tons of heat, so sometimes folks cut holes in the bumpers to cool the motor. Too bad they didn't look at the RUF bumpers first, those are ventilated very nicely and look really stylish.

A central vacuum system is always nice Jeff. :)

Also, I was guessing those holes were for venting too RB so I guess your opinion is just further confirmation.

Was this a custom paint job, or does Porsche offer this color on all of its cars?
