Porsche Story

This Porsche Story was sent in by Stephen. It's one of those once in a lifetime experiences in my book.

My first and only encounter began on a sunlit Sunday morning when a customer parked his Porsche right at the door to my shop. I complimented him on his choice of vehicle and he asked if I would like to drive it.

Are you kidding…nobody hands over a car like that…EVER. But he wasn't kidding and we started around the block with me a bundle of nerves. Now don't get me wrong, I'm an old drag racer fromt he 60's and know my way around a shift liver.

This thing was as smooth as they come…silky smooth. And boy, did it feel as if it was part of your body. When you squeezed the accelerator, it responded with a "push you back in the seat" feeling that you will never forget. I was hooked…forever.

Nope, I never owned one. Never could afford it. But I will always remember that feeling on that sunny Sunday morning. Gosh, that was fun.

Great story. We will all own one sooner or later if we keep the dream alive.

Should the term "truck" also apply to SUVs?
