DIY Electric Porsche 911
Wired.com had a great post recently about a guy who is building a Porsche 911 electric power car. He's converting a 1981 911 Targa using some top of the line electric drive train components.
New Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid
Most of you know that I'm really not much of a racing fan. Not that I don't like racing, it's just that I don't know enough to truly appreciate the sport. I do show flahes of racing love every now and then though. And this happens to be one of those times.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS Video
This is an awesome video. Supposedly Andreas Preuninger, Manager of High Performance Cars at Porsche, took this bad boy out for a stint on the Autobahn the night before the Frankfurt Auto Show. The video shows him hitting speeds of 180 mph.
Life Without The Porsche 911?
I was reading a Car and Driver post this weekend from one of the drivers contributing to the upcoming 10Best feature Car and Driver publishes every year (coming up in the January 2010 issue). He made a comment that got me thinking again about a question that comes up every now and then: "Can you imagine Porsche without its 911?"
Sharkwerks 500hp Porsche GT3RS In Action
This last weekend, Alex over at Sharkwerks sent me a link to this video along with a link to the GT3RS project report. I really didn't think I'd be that interested in the video since I usually get a little bored with the same old revving engine stuff that guys like to throw up on YouTube. Man was I wrong. I watched the ENTIRE 9 minute video. I got giddy at about the 3 minute mark when the two guys are in the GT3RS with the emulator hooked up and they start doing power pulls. You HAVE to watch that part if nothing else in the video.
2 New Porsche Mini-Sites To Check Out
I was emailed info about both of these Porsche mini-sites over the past few days and thought I'd make sure everyone knows about them. Maybe we should just make Fridays officially "Porsche Time Waster Fridays". Porsche typically does an excellent job with their model specific mini-sites representing a nice little "time waster" for Porsche fans of all shapes and sizes. For me, they always seem to draw me into the experience of the car they're representing and I walk away wanting whatever model I've been looking at.

I don't know why, but spy shots never really do a whole lot for me. I suppose it's a little strange, because I really like movie previews. I'll sit through 20 or 30 minutes of them and be happy as a clam. But put some spy shots in front of me and it's a bit of a yawner.
