Porsche Premieres At Geneva Motor Show
I stumbled on the Porsche 918 Spyder yesterday morning, but didn't have time to post about it. I also saw a Web Special set up for live streaming of Porsche's Premieres event live. You need to jump out and watch the event now. Pretty cool and you can see the new Cayenne Hybrid, the GT3 R Hybrid and the 918 Spyder. I'm lovin the look of that 918 Spyder!

Porsche Type 64 on it's way to the States – I hadn't realized it, but for the first time ever, Porsche Type 64 is leaving German soil. It will be part of the "Allure of the Automobile" exhibit Porsche is sponsoring in Atlanta. The exhibit runs from March 21 thru June 20, 2010. This presents potentially a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see what began it all at a location more close to home. Trying to figure out how to get there to see it myself. [Via PaddockTalk.com]

Uwe Gemballa kidnapped? – German police are fearing the worst for Gemballa's founder, Uwe Gemballa. He went missing last week while in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was supposed to be there for 3 days to discuss expanding Gemballa into the country. A German car site, GTspirit.com, reported Uwe phoned his wife shortly after arriving in South Africa asking her to wire a million-euro ransom to a bank account. Evidently there are several suspects including a fugitive from the Czech Republic. Anyone know the latest on Uwe Gemballa? If so, throw it in the comments. [Via Timeslive.co.za]
Porsche Driver Training Options
Everyone wants to be a better driver. Actually, every Porsche enthusiast wants to be a better driver. That's probably more accurate. I think it comes with the territory when you love Porsche cars. Largely because driver training often comes with the opportunity to go fast in a controlled environment (or at least that's how it plays out in my head). And who doesn't want to go fast?!

New Porsche 911 Turbo S web special – This isn't Porsche's best effort at a web special, in my opinion, but it's got a couple of cool videos definitely worth watching and some opportunity to explore excellent, Porsche-quality pictures of the car. I'm excited about seeing this car in person. Check out the site for a few minutes of quality dreaming. [Via Porsche.com]
New Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid
Most of you know that I'm really not much of a racing fan. Not that I don't like racing, it's just that I don't know enough to truly appreciate the sport. I do show flahes of racing love every now and then though. And this happens to be one of those times.
Porsche Fan's Starter Car & Baby Porsche Boxster
I had a couple of things that didn't make the Sunday post, but found them too interesting to pass up.
VW GTI is Porsche Fan's starter car – I found this pretty interesting and the logic somewhat believable. Brian Scotto, editorial director of 0-60 Magazine says, “The GTI has a direct bloodline to Audis and Porsches. It’s an aspirational vehicle. The guy who wants to grow up and drive a Porsche will probably drive a VW first. It’s the least expensive German sports car you can buy.” I wonder how true that is. I've never owned a VW GTI, but always liked them. I wouldn't hesitate to drive one, even today. Any other Porsche owners start out with a GTI? [Via Bloomberg.com]

2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S = Sweetness!
It's been 5 years since we last saw a new Porsche 911 Turbo S. For those of us who love the 911 Turbo, that seems like an eternity. Finally, no more waiting and we can get to our standard drooling and ogling behavior. And there will be PLENTY to drool and ogle over.

You are what you drive – Bloomberg.com had an interesting article written by an auto journalist about the vibe your car gives off and what it says about you to the people around you. He covers everything from Hummers to Porsches and Bentleys to Toyotas. He even had an interesting experience in a Smart car in Manhatten. My favorite, though, is his take on the older Porsche 911. Definitely worth reading. [Via Bloomberg.com]
PorschePurist.com At Daytona!!!
I posted about the Guardian Angel Motorsports car racing at this year's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona to raise money for several children focused causes. What I didn't realize was that PorschePurist.com was going to be a sponsor with a logo on the car!
