World's Most Dangerous Roads
Deep down inside, I think every car enthusiast longs to conquer a challenging road. Whether it's a drive through the Alps or a jaunt up old Highway 1 along the coast, there's just something about the open road and the thrill of driving through twists and turns. I love driving twisty roads in a 911 and pushing the car to it's limits. Although I have to admit, my brother-in-law scared the crap out of me on some back roads a few months ago. But the 911 held up well and kept us on the straight and narrow.
New Poll
Andrew suggested that we fire up a new poll around my SUVs not being trucks rant from a few days ago. It's now live, so scroll down on the right hand side and let your voice be heard. This is an important issue afterall!
Porsche Trucks
I was doing some keyword research today for PorschePerfect and came across an interesting term that gets searched quite a bit in Google: Porsche Trucks. Global monthly searches for the term "Porsche Trucks" is right around 823,000. The crazy thing is when you compare this to the search term "Porsche Cayenne" which only gets around 1,000,000 monthly searches.
Ugliest Porsche Ever
Could this possibly be the ugliest Porsche you've ever seen? I found this today on ebay and I have to say it's appalling. In the auction description, the seller claims that over $150k was invested. What a waste.
Would You Rather Poll Wrap-up
Our final poll just wrapped up and we had one of our best showings since the Porsche Giveaway poll a few months ago. Here's the results:
Would You Rather…Have a 1986 911 Turbo or a used Cayman S?
Porsche Wrongness
There's some things in life that just shouldn't be. Like a peanut butter and ketchup sandwich for instance. Or wearing driving gloves while piloting your Geo Metro. You really wouldn't think we'd have a tough time putting the right things together in situations like that. Evidently though, some people just don't have that common sense gene. This happens to be an unfortunate consequence:
500th Post
Today I'm posting my 500th post on PorschePerfect.com. It's been just over a year since I started the blog and I can't believe we're already hitting the 500 post mark. I've been contemplating what to do with this post and was half tempted to just let the milestone go by since I'm guessing that most readers don't really care about milestones, but instead come out to the blog for Porsche stuff.
Porsche Panamera Look-Alike
Paul over at TheTruthAboutCars.com claims he's found the inspiration Porsche's Design Department used when creating the Porsche Panamera: A Bristol 405. The 405 is the only 4-door in the 400 series line and was built between 1955 and 1958.
A Porsche And A Set Of Golf Clubs
Why do angry wives/lovers/girlfriends have to take out their aggression on a fella's Porsche?! Can't they show a little more respect for these cars we all love so much? Why can't they break a window in a house, take a 7-iron to their man's TV, or snap that bowling trophy he loves so much? Seriously, don't take it out on a piece of fine German engineering that likely provided you as much pleasure and thrill as it did him.
Guess The Porsche Sound
Porsche has put up a little contest for those living in the U.K. To enter, you have to listen to the exhaust sound from 5 different Porsche models spanning a number of years, then select the correct model out of the 3 listed for that sound. Once you determine your guesses, you can enter into a drawing for an Evolution 911 driving experience at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.
