Tempting Porsches #27 – 959 Edition
Alright, this is California dreamin for sure, but I couldn't help but put these into a Tempting Porsches post. I happened on not one, but TWO Porsche 959s on Craigslist of all places. The Porsche 959 has always been one of the ultimate Porsches for me. Still is today. Both are for sale by the same company, Canepa Design, a US based tuner of sorts also possessing a nice collection of rare race and road cars.
2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S = Sweetness!
It's been 5 years since we last saw a new Porsche 911 Turbo S. For those of us who love the 911 Turbo, that seems like an eternity. Finally, no more waiting and we can get to our standard drooling and ogling behavior. And there will be PLENTY to drool and ogle over.
Porsche GT3 Video
This is another one sent in by a reader a few months ago (sorry I can't remember who sent it in, feel free to take credit for it in the comments). It's an older video Top Gear aired on the Porsche GT3. This is such a sweet looking car. Gotta be one of the best 911s of all time. The takeoff at the start of the video is classic. Great way to start the week.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS Video
This is an awesome video. Supposedly Andreas Preuninger, Manager of High Performance Cars at Porsche, took this bad boy out for a stint on the Autobahn the night before the Frankfurt Auto Show. The video shows him hitting speeds of 180 mph.
1989 Porsche Speedster
This is one of those cars that would have gone on my Ultimate Car List had I had the room. I've always had a fascination with the 911 Speedsters. I love the primarily open air version of the 911, the flared rear fenders like the 911 Turbo, and the raked windshield. It gives the car such a hunkered down bad boy look.
Ultimate Car List Top 5 – Pick #5
It's the final pick in my Ultimate Car List Top 5 mini-series. Today's car will likely be a surprise to most. Course with the list we have so far, #5 could be just about anything. I went round and round with this one. Lots of cars made the short list for various reasons. Here are a few that I gave serious consideration to:
Ultimate Car List Top 5 – Pick #4
Yes boys and girls, it's time for Pick Numero 4 in our Ultimate Car List Top 5. A pretty exciting and potentially monumentous day for this Porschephile in particular. Why? Well, I think I'm finally moving into the 21st century of Porsche supercars.
Ultimate Car List Top 5 – Pick #3
My 3rd pick was a pretty tough one. I debated about several cars, but then decided on a RUF car. Narrowing it down to one RUF model proved to be as tough as settling on RUF in the first place, but I finally decided on an Rt 12. If I were choosing a year it would be a 2009.
Porsche 911 GT2 Goodness
I'm beginning to realize that I don't think I can get enough of the Porsche 911 GT2. It's like the 911 Turbo in the 80's. I just couldn't stop dreaming about that car and had more than my fair share of 911 Turbo pictures on the wall in my room. Heck, I'd still have Porsche posters on my bedroom wall, but my wife says no. Something about not being romantic or being too childish. I don't know. I try and tell her, "What could be sexier than an 80's 911 Turbo…", but that's about as far as I get.
Ultimate Car List Top 5 – Pick #2
Time for the second pick in my Ultimate Car List Top 5. I know a few of you have been waiting with baited breath for the rest of the list. Maybe I'll pick up the pace a bit. Really, I'm agonizing over every one and have spent the last week trying to figure out my second car.
