Walter Rohrl Test Diving The New GT3 RS On A Wet Nurburgring
Gregg, one of our PorschePerfect.com readers, sent me a heads up about this video on YouTube. It's a hot lap by Walter Rohrl in wet conditions at the Nurburgring Track. Another behind the driver perspective. I love the sound from the cockpit.
Supercars Exposed: Porsche Tuner TECHART
This was a great episode of Supercars Exposed. I'm not a big Tanner Foust fan, but he drives some amazing TECHART tuned Porsches and shows some behind the scenes footage of the tuning facility. There's some other great rides in there as well. Definitely worth watching. Thanks for sending it over, Lyndon!
Porsche 550 Coupe Video History
Man, with all this video footage from Goodwood, I'm really wishing I would have made it out to the event. Unbelievable how many amazing cars were there.
This video details the history of and behind a Porsche 550. Number 001 to be exact. What a car!
Need Help With Boxster Codes
I hate to muddy the blog with service requests and general troubleshooting, but we've got such smart Porsche people reading the blog, I hate to waste the talent and resources. Plus, this is for Joe who's been a regular on the blog nearly since the beginning, so we're helping one of our own.
Here's a question Joe sent me today:
Check engine light came on the other day. Pulled up these codes on my Boxster: P1123 and P1125. Figured I would check with the experts at PorschePerfect if they had any idea. Some forums say sensors see a rich/lean mixture because the mass airflow sensor is sending a signal to the dme to go rich or lean.
Any help or insight anyone can provide Joe in the comments would be greatly appreciated by both him as well as me. Gotta get that Boxster in tip top shape so he can send us some more snow driving pictures like he did last year!
Thanks everyone!
Wooden Porsche 911 Replica
Chalk this up to the weird things Porsche enthusiasts do. Too much passion + Too much money = Stupid crap like this…uhhh…I mean art pieces like this. Maybe I'm missing something obvious though.
Designer Alexander Gedda gathered up 6500 wooden toy building blocks and a huge zipper. He then set out to create a 14-foot replica of a Porsche 911. When finished, it's all magically transformed into a fine work of art destined for the historic archive of a Porsche dealer in Milan.
In case you're wondering, the zipper is the only way to enter the "vehicle". Not sure why you'd want to get inside of this thing in the first place.

2010 Pikes Peak Attack Record Video
This was an especially well produced video detailing Jeff Zwart's 2010 Pikes Peak hill climb. Jeff not only won the two-wheel drive, production-based race car class, he set a new record by more than 38 seconds. This dude's a monster at the wheel of his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. An unbelievable run.
Thanks to 9Magazine for the video link. Check them out if you haven't already here: 9Magazine.com.
Porsche 356 At Goodwood
Not a particularly riveting video, but I'm fascinated by the history of some of these older and more rare Porsche 356 models that show up at events like Goodwood. Kind of like mini Porsche history lessons. This is a great looking car too.
Porsche 944 Batmobile
Lyndon sent me a link to this classified listing. I'm not really sure what to say about it, so I'm just going to let the pictures do the talking. This car is a customized 1985 Porsche 944 by one heck of an avid Batman fan. It's located up in Canada and offered for sale for $6,500. Here's some of the ad description:

Onboard A Porsche 917K At Goodwood
I've really been into these onboard cams lately. I love how they put you in the driver's seat and some of the tracks they run are pretty amazing. Not to mention the driving.
Porsche Weekly Wrap
N. Technology Porsche Panamera scores a debut win in the series round – I'll admit, when I first mentioned this car a couple of weeks ago, I was a naysayer (Three…ummm…interesting Porsches). It seems the people over at N. Technology knew what they were doing turning their Porsche Panamera S into a race ready machine. They hooked themselves up with first place. That's pretty dang impressive. [Via CarAdvice.com]
Great Pictures at The New York Times 'Origins of Porsche' – Paul, the mostly silent half of PorschePerfect.com, sent me this yesterday. The New York Times did a little feature called Origins of Porsche in their collectible cars section. 12 great pictures of Porsche 356's. My favorites are #1 and #6. Definitely worth checking out here: Origins of Porsche.
China eyeing the #1 market for Porsche – Right now they're #3, and moving up the ranks quickly. What's very interesting to me is that China is the world's largest market for the Porsche Cayenne. Evidently the well-heeled and high-ranking military figures love the Cayenne. Get this, when they go on sale there, the Cayenne S will fetch $217,000 and the Turbo a cool $300,000. A deposit of $30k is required just to get on the waiting list! [Via TheTruthAboutCars.com]
Porsche working on electric sports car – We've known for a while that Porsche has been dabbling in EV cars. The push, in my opinion, really started to fire up when RUF released their electric 911. Though a bit short on range, it showed some true promise in the EV sports car sector. When Porsche released the 918 Spyder, they definitely tipped their hand and made all of us used Porsche mortals salivate at the technology we'd see trickling down to our hand-me-down Porsche ranks in the not so distant future. So it comes as no real surprise to hear Porsche officially say it's electrified three Porsche Boxsters as research cars. Will be interesting to see what comes in the next year or two and which model, aside from the 918 Spyder, is first in line for an electric version. [Via The Independent]

Porsche Cayenne Turbo will kick butt in 2011 form – The more I see the Cayenne Turbo, the more I want one. These are one heck of a performance SUV. When I read the short review on Motor Trend's Truck Trend, I wanted one more than ever. 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds, yet fuel economy that rivals the 2010 V6 model?! Unbelievable! How long before some brave soul enters one of these bad boys in a track series? [Via Blogs.TruckTrend.com]
