Nearly every major Porsche model was represented with the exception of the Cayenne and Panamera. I suppose I understand that, but I was hoping to see a couple of tricked out models. Guess those owners aren’t proud of their cars.

Pictures were tough given the crowds and combination of sun and shadows cast from the trees. Here are a few, though, that will give you a taste of Porsche goodness we got to experience today.

The above Porsche 356 Speedster was the first car in the line and set the stage for the 2 blocks worth of Porsches waiting for us.

The above Porsche 356 Outlaw was one of my favorite cars of the day. It was the only Outlaw 356 on display.

My wife loved the wicker luggage on this Porsche 356 C.

All in all, one great great day!

The cars in this video are amazing. I didn’t even know about the Goodwood Festival until last week. A heck of a range of cars giving a nice sample of Porsche’s heritage. A mini Porsche museum of sorts. Anyone hit this festival?

I posted about this event a while back, but was sent the above video with some footage of the cars on display and thought it’d be worth sharing again. It looks like there are quite a few great cars at the event, but the two most noteworthy ones are the 1938/39 Porsche Type 64 and the 1953 Porsche 550 LeMans coupe.

Both are historic icons in the Porsche world and this is a rare opportunity to see both in one place. In fact, seeing the Porsche Type 64 on U.S. soil (or any soil other than the German variety for that matter) is a first in the history of the car. The thing has never been outside of Germany.

I just informed my wife that we’re going to Atlanta before June 20th. I got an “okay”, so I’m making plans!

I just got an announcement this morning that if you’re a PCA member, you can snag a spot to race against Hurley Haywood. No you won’t be on the real track, but you’ll have the next best thing. You can race him online tomorrow, March 31st, during a special event the PCA is putting on. You’ll need an xBox and Need for Speed Shift. Of course you’ll also have to be online to take part.

I haven’t had any close calls or major spinouts. I only try it when I’ve got a nice wide street and no traffic or other cars around. The interesting thing is it has gotten me thinking about my driving abilities and how I can improve. Enter Porsche Camp4.

It’s not your typical driving school. Porsche Camp4 Colorado is based on the long running Camp4 program in Finland. Porsche essentially pulls out all of the stops and sets up a track circuit on a private 5-star mountain resort in Colorado. The circuit takes three months to construct with the end result being a lifesize winter wonderland for you and a group of Porsches.

The driving school sounds amazing. You can get the gist of it from the second video. The thing that is enticing to me is the level of skill you’d walk away with after learning on such extreme conditions. You would have a sense of exactly how the car would react and the effect (and consequences) of pushing your car in different scenarios. If you’re looking for something other than the typical driving school, this one would be tough to beat.
