I ran across a 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S yesterday that was previously owned by Jerry Seinfeld…it’s going on my Ultimate Car list. It’s a gorgeous car that was custom built for Seinfeld finished in a one-of-a-kind Turquoise Blue color. At the time of the sale it had just over 8000 miles on it. Here are some detailed pictures from TruSpeed MotorCars, the company offering it for sale earlier this year:

http://truspeedmotorcars.com/vas_inventory_detail.aspx?@page_stock_no=1336

A gorgeous and fast car for sure. Even a bit on the rarer side, especially given the customizations at the Porsche factory. But you might ask why a Turbo S is on my Ultimate Car list. Two reasons. First, I’ve always had a thing for 911 Turbos. I’d still love to own one of the early 930′s from the mid to late 70′s. The raw, unrefined power of those cars was/is pretty amazing and creates a unique driving experience. I also love the flared fenders and big whale tail of the earlier 911 Turbo models.

Second reason this is on my Ultimate Car list is because it was owned by Jerry Seinfeld. I was (and still am) a huge Seinfeld fan. It was easily one of the best shows I’ve ever watched on a regular basis. Given that he is such a Porsche aficionado and a TV icon of my generation, having a car from his collection that he had a hand in customizing would be pretty cool. A corny reason for many, but some will get what I’m saying.

It looks like the car was sold several times within the span of a few months including a reported appearance on eBay to be auctioned off. I’m not sure where the car ended up, but it sure would be a great addition to a collection, even if it’s a collection of a mini van and an SUV as a “sunny day driver”.

Here’s a link to a great article detailing information about Jerry Seinfeld’s Porsche 911 Turbo S if you want more details:
